1997 Fender California Series Stratocaster Rosewood Neck 3-Tone Sunburst w/Hard Case
Up for sale, here’s a rare 1997 Fender California Series Stratocaster with Rosewood neck in a classic 3-Tone Sunburst, in Excellent condition.
7.8 Lbs, which means light, really well balanced and resonant.
The California Series was introduced in January 1997 for just two year period. These instruments had their Bodies and necks built in the USA but sent to be painted in Ensenada, Mexico. These instruments are still fully assembled in the Corona, CA USA plant using American pickups, electronics and hardware.
Similar to the American Vintage series, the California Stratocaster in fact had more vintage correct appointments than any of the American Standard line, including some Custom Colors. That’s why these guitars increasingly became sought after.
This California Strat has an Alder body with a a 3-ply White Pickguard loaded with a Tex-MEx Single Coil Stratocaster pickups set, CTS pots and a 5-way blade switch. The Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard has a C profile that reminds a los to the early ’60s, but with 9.5″ radius and 1.66″ nut width, Depth thinks at 1st fret of .870″ and .980″ at 12th fret with vintage style frets. Hardware includes vintage tuners and vintage tremolo bridge. Everything on the guitar appears to be all original with the addition of the SKB Hard Molded Case, which is an upgrade since these guitars came with just a Fender gig bag.
Cosmetically, the guitar is in Excellent condition and it has minimal play wear, and please allow just very light surface level marks of usage however there are no visible blemishes to mention. The instrument is in great condition overall and in perfect working order. The neck is perfectly straight and the truss rod works flawlessly both ways. It’s been just professionally set with a fresh set of D’addario strings and it really plays amazing.
It’ll ship out professionally packed and fully insured to Continental US, International buyers are welcome, just ask before. Local pickup in LA is also available.
